(AP) A former boardinghouse landlady was charged with eight counts of murder Friday in the alleged poisonings of elderly or disabled tenants over a three-year period. Dorothea Puente, 60, who is accused of cashing the victims' Social Security checks, pleaded innocent to each of the charges. She faces the death penalty if convicted.
